Things To Do This Memorial Day Weekend in Kingston, NY for 5/28-5/31

Although Memorial Day is a solemn day to honor those who have lost their lives serving our nation,  it is also the unofficial start of Summer. There are plenty of outdoor activities abound here in the Hudson Valley, including a memorial service to honor those fallen.

Whether you are looking for some great local music. interesting art exhibits, historic tours, or river cruises, our calendar of events has a plethora of awesome things to discover in and around Kingston NY!

 

COMMUNITY EVENTS

Although the annual Memorial Day Parade will not be happening this year there will be a Memorial Day service held at City Hall in Kingston in remembrance of those that have died in service to our country. Kingston Catholic School will be presenting their very innovative and virtual version of ‘Peter Pan’ throughout the weekend. The ‘Kingston Unity Basketball League Kickoff Rally’ is a great way for members of our community to get together, have fun, and get to know one another. Don’t forget, it’s also the weekend for Kingston’s ‘Spring Stroll’ all around Uptown, Midtown, and Downtown!

 

ART

Art exhibits can be found in some unique and unexpected places this weekend, including a popup at the Wilbur Community Garden, the Barnfox co-working space, and at Artport in the old, and massive, historic Cornell Steamboat Company building on the Kingston Waterfront.

 

MUSIC

The music scene in our area is absolutely crazy this weekend with not only the regular venues like Colony, Pearl Moon, Keegan Ales and Lydia’s offering an eclectic mix of awesome music,  but you can bike or hike on down to the Rail Trail Cafe in Rosendale to hear local favorites ‘Levanta!’

 

OUTDOOR MARKETS AND TOURS

Kingston farm markets have hit their full stride with the Uptown and Waterfront markets attracting a wide range of vendors offering all sorts of local goods. You can still buy plants and seeds for your own home garden while supporting a great community organization at Seed Song Farm. The Hudson River Maritime Museum is offering some great tours this weekend of Kingston’s waterfront that will be very informative and fun!
