42nd Street the Musical, live-streamed by the Bardavon

There are plenty of things to do here in the Hudson Valley during Mid May to keep you entertained, whether you want to mix and mingle outdoors or enjoy live-streamed events from your living room. Here is a rundown of what we have so far this week-

MOVIES AND THEATER

Broadway comes to a couch near you when the Bardavon presents their Virtual Cinema performances- 42nd Street The Musical  will be featured, along with the awesome Phillipe Petit Open Practice , which is the story of the Hudson Valley’s own world-famous high wire artist from behind the scenes. Another great live performance will be of spoken word at The Green Kill’s Words Carry Us with Betty MacDonald  virtual series, featuring readings by local author, Tom Newton.

MUSIC

Each week there are great musical acts to choose from, no matter what your preference may be. Keegan Ale’s will be hosting the likes of  Kate Skwire and Mister Kick in their outdoor tent, with plenty of good beverages to enjoy the music with.  Pearl Moon in Woodstock is also contributing to this week’s vibrant music vibe presenting  Carly Walsh  and the eclectic, spatial sounds of  Spaghetti Eastern Music.

OUTDOOR MARKETS AND NATURE WALKS

Slabsides at the John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary

Slabsides at the John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary

Awesome May weather is a fabulous time to enjoy outdoor markets like the Kingston NY Farmers Market for some local goods, or to head straight to the farm for some Plant Sales & Family Fun at Seed Song Farm.  It is also a good time for all the locals to enjoy what visitors travel here to see, and a great opportunity will be at the  Community Day for Locals at Opus 40!.  And, you can hang around Opus 40 for a cocktail or two when Stockade Tavern starts its  Saturdays at Opus 40! Another local attraction sometimes forgotten or even unknown is the John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary, however, you can find out more about this hidden gem when they host their Slabsides Day Open House. And, for all you bird lovers or watchers, check out Warbler Time at John Burroughs Nature Sanctuary as well!
