CCE Presents THE 5th ANNUAL BLACK ARTIVIST EXPERIENCE!
Community ARTIVISTS are artists who use their art to uplift, motivate and inspire personal and social change.
The Black Experience will bring to light the diverse experiences of the black community expressed through song, poetry, dance, imagery, music, and more. This performance will be impactful, informative and inspirational. It’s going to make you laugh, cry, lift your spirits and make you think.
Featuring God’s Hands- The Next Generation, an interpretive movement and sign language dance group devoted to expressing faith through the art of dance, a spoken word and dance performance by youth performer Rainne Nalls, a reading by Esi Lewis of the Dr. Margaret Wade-Lewis Black Cultural Center, an excerpt from the production Still We Rise, celebrating the poetry of Maya Angelou performed by Marlene Merritt and Phyllis Harris, the Ms. V “Did You Know?” segment and more.
