This Weekend’s Happenings in Kingston, NY for 4/9-4/11

Happy Weekend! Get out while the sun is shining for the outdoor activities and use the rainy Sunday this weekend for the live-streamed events. Plenty of exciting happenings to discover in and around Kingston NY!

Enjoy the Kingston Winter Farmers Market happening Saturday outdoors at the Ulster County Courthouse parking lot. Plenty of delicious vendors to choose from offering awesome veggies, prepared foods, and goods!

Kingston’s Uptown Farmers’ Market

Welcome back live, in person music! Grand Cru in Rhinebeck is hosting live in person music from Electric Ghost Chris Chauvin, as well as singer/songwriter Erin Powers. They’ll have food trucks for all to enjoy as well!

For some safe Hudson Valley history, check out the Hudson River Maritime Museum’s Limited Open Admission. And while you’re on the Rondout- check out ARTPORT for the last weekend of their ‘Follow the Line’ Exhibition.

For more art-oriented and entertaining events, check out Green Kill’s virtual stream of ‘Fragments of the Star-Spangled Banner.’ “The Station Hill Intermedia Lab presents poet Michael Ruby enchanting poems and fragments from The Star-Spangled Banner in this operatic exploration spanning the fifteen years from 9/11 to Trump’s election on 11/9. Legendary rock bassist Abby Travis improvises to the poems and the shape of the time period itself. A video collage by Sam Truitt backdrops what Francis Scott Key promises will be an intense intermedia collision with one of America’s leading national symbols. And, you can still catch THE LOCKWOOD GALLERY presenting “Bruce Cahn: Discovered,” a solo exhibition highlighting the prolific though little known practice of the late artist Bruce Cahn (1942-2020).

‘OPEN PRACTICE’ by Philippe Petit presented by the Bardavon

Check out the virtual stream of ‘OPEN PRACTICE’ by Philippe Petit presented by the Bardavon, which gives audiences front row seats to observe Petit’s creative process and the origins of many of his unique walks and moves on the wire. Another great Bardavon Presents event is the Bardavon Presents Virtual Cinema – Madama Butterfly livestream! Help support UPAC and the Bardavon and keep the entertainment going!

Another exciting livestream  this weekend is Shakespeare On Demand! The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck is offering viewings of selected past Shakespeare shows that have played at The CENTER!
