This Weekend’s Happenings in Kingston, NY for 4/16-4/18
It’s going to be another awesome Spring weekend and you can find plenty of fun and interesting things to do right here in the Kingston NY area. Music abounds whether you want to enjoy it live and in person or from the comfort of your living room. There are also a wide variety of community events that you can engage in to support local non-profits, learn from, or just to meet your neighbors.
The local music options are as eclectic as usual and range from the classical music of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic presented by the BARDAVON/UPAC to the Indie Folk sounds of Yard Sale playing live outside at the Colony in Woodstock.
There’s also a fun new space in Woodstock called Pearl Moon and they will have plenty of live music to keep you rocking, including Sweet Marie with Norm Wennet, and Daniel Marc. Green Kill is hosting another livestream called “We Come from Far Away” featuring Dane Johnson and Rick Warren will be live streamed from Green Kill. And in Rhinebeck, Grand Cru never disappoints, especially with local favorite Brad Cole and The Deadbeats.
For more live performance fun, check out ‘Pippin’ live-streamed from The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck.
It’s a great weekend for the Midtown Market Earth Day Celebration! The Kingston Midtown Market is a monthly event highlighting local vendors, artists and performers and April’s event celebrates Easter and Earth Day! Social Distancing, temperatures upon entry and Masks are required. Hand Sanitizer is available throughout the facility.
Beyond the 4 Walls Outreach Program and the YMCA Bike Program are hosting a ‘Bell & Light Giveaway’ and Bicycle Repair Event.
It’s a good time for everyone to get vaccinated, including our furry family members. There’s a Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic offered by Ulster County and the Ulster County SPCA, taking place at the UCSPCA!
For some safe Hudson Valley history, check out the Hudson River Maritime Museum’s Limited Open Admission. Hudson River Maritime Museum Wooden Boat School is offering a Wooden Pen Turning Class!
