2019 Fourth of July Happenings and More

Happy Fourth of July! It’s the biggest weekend of the summer, and you certainly don’t want to miss out on all of the fun activities that are happening over this long weekend. Everybody knows that Kingston has the best fireworks celebration in the area on the beautiful Rondout Waterfront, and you can get the details of what’s happening, where to park, and shuttle services here.  This is also the weekend that the proprietors of Kingston Plaza bring the Coleman Bros. Carnival to town for it’s two-week run, which is always a crowd-pleaser, especially for kids. The Rip Van Winkle is doing a special Fourth of July Cruise on the Hudson, and you can even hear a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Rosendale theater for even more Fourth of July fun.

For the entire the weekend, the music scene will entice everyone to get out and celebrate with acts like local Blues king, Slam Allen on the patio at Mariner’s Harbor, country boys the Jon Hatchett Band at Keegan Ale’s, yacht rockers Julie and the Cruise Directors at BSP, and punk rocker Eric Nervous at Tubby’s, to mention just a few.

It’s also the First Saturday of the month, which entails plenty of gallery receptions featuring local artists of all types at an eclectic mix of venues. Coach House Players launch their comedic, summer production of the play “Ripcord”, Murder Train Comedy brings Kendra Dawson to the stage at PAKT, and you can even “Paddle up the Creek” with Kingston Parks and Rec as part of their fun events for the summer.

This is just a quick glimpse of what’s happening in the Kingston area for the Fourth of July Weekend, so check out what else is happening below, enjoy as much as you can, and be safe!
