Step Back in Time at the Matthewis Persen House Museum This Season!

History buffs and anyone curious about the Hudson Valley’s past won’t want to miss the opening of the Matthewis Persen House Museum’s 2024 season on Saturday, May 25th, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Located at 74 John St. in Kingston’s historic Stockade District, the Persen House will be open to the public throughout the season, offering a glimpse into the lives of those who shaped the region’s history.

D-Day Presentation Kicks Off the Season

Opening day features a special presentation on D-Day, led by World War II experts Hank Yost and Dan Swart. Learn about the American 82nd and 101st Airborne regiments’ role in the Normandy invasion on June 6, 1944. Yost and Swart will be dressed in authentic jump uniforms and have equipment used by paratroopers on display. Visitors are encouraged to bring family artifacts and stories related to World War II.

Exciting Events and Exhibits All Season Long

The Persen House has a packed schedule planned, with something for everyone:

  • Family-friendly events: Reenactments, music, colonial games, and more!
  • Lectures and exhibits: Explore topics like Africans in America and Antiquity with the season-long exhibit by TransArt.
