Kingston’s Uptown 2018 New Year’s Eve Celebration: A Quick Glimpse

The brutal cold kept many of the casual revellers home but there were still quite a few die-hards that bundled up and came out to celebrate the end of the year 2017 and the christening of 2018 in the annual Uptown New Year’s Eve Celebration at the intersection of Wall and North Front Streets.. There were multiple venues like BSP, Stockade, and Kovo that had live entertainment in the Uptown area and Lara Hope and the Arktones gamely tried to warm up the crowd prior to the ball drop at midnight outside on stage. Unlike previous years when people were on the street and enjoying the party-like atmosphere long before the start of the new year, most people stayed in their warm space of choice until just before the ball dropped and then came out for a brief celebration and fireworks sponsored by Basch and Keegan LLC.
