Like any new technology the rapid rise of AI Assisted Art has been met with a chorus of strong opinions that range from apocalyptic visions of a world of mass produced and soulless art to utopian scenarios where art is democratized and anyone, regardless of traditional technical skills is freed to be creative. Regardless of which of these visions comes to be – and it will almost certainly be a little of both – the one thing that most people can agree on is that the emergence of Artificial Intelligence is not going to go away and it will in short time have a profound effect on how we make, distribute, look at and think about art.
Contrary to what many people believe, AI is not simply about entering text and getting an image. This is a workshop designed to harness the full range of AI imaging tools for individual creative expression. Utilizing the powerful new AI generative features in Adobe Photoshop as well as independent AI programs like Midjourney. Students will learn a wide range of creative techniques that can be employed to create new work or manipulate your pre-existing images.
Students will be expected to have a basic understanding of Photoshop essentials in order to participate in the workshop.
All participants will receive an additional year on their CPW Digital Media Lab membership.
