Swing by for a whistle-stop tour through a century of American sound. Local musician and educator Tristen Napoli takes us from ragtime’s syncopated beginnings through the big bands and the Great American Songbook, into the daring improvisations of bebop, the cool sway of bossa nova, and the groove of soul jazz, all in 90 fast-moving minutes. A thrilling introduction to one of America’s great art forms.
Tristen Napoli is a trumpet player who has had the good fortune to spend the first chapter of his life touring, recording, and performing with a veritable “Who’s Who” of Jazz and creative music. He has now returned to his native Kingston to pursue his passion for music education.
No registration required. This special summer reading program is for teens and adults.
