THE ACTOR’S ATELIER ESTABLISHES A HOME FOR RIGOROUS ACTOR TRAINING IN THE HUDSON VALLEY; ANNOUNCES TWO NEW WORKSHOPS

The Actor’s Atelier announces its presence as a place for disciplined actors, committed to developing their craft, to learn and grow right here in the Hudson Valley. Rooted in rigor, curiosity, and artistic courage, the Actor’s Atelier offers an ongoing practice for actors seeking consistent, high-level acting training.

A practice that stays open. A community that stays working. Most classes end. This work doesn’t.

“We are cultivating a community of artists that care deeply about continuing their craft in a meaningful way, alongside passionate people, for the sake of the art and nothing else,” says founder Arriella Guidubaldi.

The Actor’s Atelier offers weekly labs and intensive workshops led by working professionals and nationally recognized expert teachers, creating a sustained environment for actors who want more than drop-in training.

Two programs continue this work:

Weekly Scene Study Lab w/ Erica Cruz Hernández
Dates: May 20th, May 27th and June 3rd, 2026
Time: 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Location: ASK – The Arts Society of Kingston
97 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401

Price: $225
Early Bird Price: $175
One-Day Drop In Price: $50 w/ code ‘DROP-IN’

This is ongoing advanced scene work focused on truthful, alive acting through practices that blend technique and impulsive freedom, foundational techniques to encourage embodied exploration and play, and text analysis and on your feet exploration that builds week to week.

Erica Cruz Hernández is an actor, teacher, Kate Neal Kinley Fellowship award recipient, and former talent agent who has performed and taught at regional theatres (Denver Center for the Performing Arts, American Players Theatre, American Shakespeare Center) and universities across the country. Her specialization in classical Shakespearean text, coupled with her tv/film experience (LAW & ORDER, CHICAGO PD, POWER BOOK IV: FORCE) serves as the foundation for her teaching style. She is currently on faculty at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, NYC- one of the city’s leading institutions with the most alumni on Broadway.

Commanding Classical Language w/ David Bridel
Date: June 13-14, 2026
Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Location: ASK – The Arts Society of Kingston
97 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401

Price: $350
Early Bird Price: $300

In this weekend workshop, participants will explore the intersection of half-mask with classical dramatic and comic texts. Detailed text study combines with inspiration drawn from the masks of the Commedia dell’Arte, examining in practice an embodied approach to performance that balances energy, games, and transformational character work. Scenes and fragments from Shakespeare, Moliere, and Marivaux will provide the foundation for this intense and revelatory lab experience.

David Bridel is an artist, scholar, author and educator whose expertise ranges from screen to stage, instruction to leadership. He has been teaching clown, mask, movement, acting and performance for over thirty years. He is the Founding and Artistic Director of The Clown School in Los Angeles, one of the leading clown and physical theater arts independent studios in the United States. David has worked in mainstream theater, musical theater, opera, and classical music in the United States and around the world. David’s studio practice, which includes coaching and his Advanced Acting class, is housed at Coaching With David. David trained with Philippe Gaulier and is recognized as a leading authority on clown history and practice.

A participant from a recent Atelier workshop shared:

“I have wanted to experience real teaching for years… None of it approaches what Arriella and Mr. Bullard delivered… I came away with new thoughts, new insights, and a completely refreshed sense of inspiration.” — Elisabeth Henry

The Actor’s Atelier continues to build an ongoing artistic home for actors in the Hudson Valley.
