Specters and Structure: The Photobook As Story with DYLAN HAUSTHOR
uly 4–5, 2024
Join artist DYLAN HAUSTHOR on an exciting photo scavenger hunt where we will create images for a group photobook. Over the course of two days, we will document fiction and invent reality, exploring the messy nonborders between mythmaking, journalism, representation, bookmaking, lying, and fact. We will begin by investigating the elusive boundary between what we call “fact” and “fiction,” but we will also consider the role of identity, what it means to haunt, and how (or if) histories of the occult can inform these practices. Participants will make a collaborative book to debut at the CPW Photobook & Zine Fair (July 6-7).
WHAT TO BRING: Whatever you need to make images and get them onto a computer. If you have a preferred method of divination, please bring it. If you don’t know what this is, don’t worry about it. Good shoes!
