Kingston, NY – August 23, 2024 – Prepare for a night filled with laughter and unforgettable performances as the Arts Society of Kingston proudly presents “An Evening of Stand Up Comedy” featuring the hilarious Jaye McBride, with special guests Andy McDermott and David Britton. Join us on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 8 PM in the Great Room at the Arts Society of Kingston, located at 97 Broadway, Kingston, NY, 12401. Doors open at 7:30 PM.
About the Performers
Jaye McBride
Jaye McBride is a trailblazing comedian who is funny, smart, and proudly transgender. As the first openly transgender comedian to perform at Madison Square Garden and a regular at New York City’s Comedy Cellar, Jaye’s sharp wit and insightful humor have won her a dedicated following. She was featured as one of the “New Faces” at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in 2021 and has also performed at The Boston and Limestone Comedy Festivals. Beyond stand-up, Jaye speaks at high schools, colleges, and various groups across the country, sharing her experiences and advocating for the transgender community.
Andy McDermott
Comedian, writer, and producer Andy McDermott is a dynamic performer known for his storytelling and joke writing. He has been both a performer and producer with The Woodstock Comedy Festival and has produced segments featuring national headliners like Caroline Rhea, Eddie Brill, and Kyle Kinane. Andy has entertained audiences at The O+ Festival and has been a frequent guest on The Boris and Robin Show on WPDH FM. His hit stand-up and variety shows, produced by his company More Than Jokes, have been hosted in venues throughout the Northeast. Andy has performed at numerous comedy clubs including Laugh It Up!, Comedy Works, Stand Up NY, and many more.
David Britton
David Britton is a comedian, writer, and actor whose latest album “The History of the Universe” reached the number 2 spot on iTunes and is currently featured on Sirius XM. A three-time finalist in the Funniest Person in Cincinnati competition, David has appeared on Fox TV and at the Limestone Comedy Festival. He has written for The Hard Times and The Daily Dot, and is currently producing a series of improvised murder mysteries for the Murder Cafe theater company.
