A Moment in Time: Inflection Points
Tivoli Artists Gallery will be presenting a new show titled “A Moment in Time: Inflection Points.” The exhibition is centered on the idea of something that happened at a particular and specific time. It may be an instant captured in a visual glimpse which attempts to show an occurrence when something was one way and became something different afterwards. The concept for the show is based on the idea of inflection points. An inflection point is a time of significant change as in a turning point. In mathematics, it is a point on a curve in which a change in the direction of curvature occurs. An inflection point in contemporary usage often refers to a variety of sea changes that seem to build and then change suddenly into a different form and level of understanding.
The artists in the exhibit were encouraged to consider before and after periods in time when important change occurred, and to clarify them in visual terms. Some of the works are of a personal nature that informs the viewer of an event in their lives. Others serve to illuminate incidents that are current or historic in culture and civilization. The exhibition aspires to portray expressions that show inflection points at a particular moment in time.
Artists with work in this show include Ania Aldrich, Lynn Aikman, Gwen Bardon, Elisabeth Barnett, Ted Braggins, Melissa K Braggins, Linda Cassidy, Marie Cole, Elizabeth Dama, Jane Famighetti, Anita Fina Kiewra, Kathleen Gefell, Janene Gentile, Linda Leo Palfeyman, Kevin Palfreyman, Gina Palmer, Terry Preisner, Demoy Shilling, Guy Sobering, Silvana Tagliaferri, Santina Tirone, Rae Vincent, Camille Warmington, and Elizabeth Young. In various media, their works represent a range of style and approach.
The exhibit, curated by Ted and Melissa Braggins, will run from May 29 until June 28, 2026 at the gallery on 60 Broadway, Tivoli NY. A reception for the artists will be held from 5 – 7 PM on Saturday, May 30. Please make an opportunity to come out and see this interesting and moving show.
