Marji Zintz & Doug Marcus in The Garden
Colony Woodstock Presents: Marji Zintz & Doug Marcus in The Garden!
Join us for an evening of folk music on the main stage of our beautiful outdoor garden!
Marji Zintz / 7:30pm
Acoustic guitarist and vocalist Marji Zintz, living and performing in the Catskills/Hudson Valley region of New York, is a gifted, soulful interpreter performing a hybrid of contemporary folk, rock, and jazz.
With a voice that has been likened to Joni Mitchell, Rickie Lee Jones, Eva Cassidy, Shawn Colvin, and Billie Holiday, Marji has performed thousands of shows and has recorded as a soloist and in larger ensembles in the jazz and folk genres, such as a mostly a capella recording and performance project called “Sister Sound.”
In addition to her extensive solo work, Marji is currently part of an exciting new project, “Becoming Human,” with Jim Kunkel on guitars and Mickey Kopchak on effects & bass and vocals, and occasionally Ron Wilson on drums/percussion, performing original songs of observation, realization, and transformation. Becoming Human defies categorization, but it has the improvisational feel of jazz and the soulful feeling of folk/rock/alternative.
Doug Marcus / 6pm
Doug Marcus plays a variety of styles of music on both stand-up acoustic and electric bass. He is well known around the Hudson Valley for his solo shows.
