Get ready for a night of dazzling entertainment as the faculty and students of SummerDance present a Vaudeville-Style Variety Show on August 9th at the historic Rosendale Theatre. This vibrant and eclectic performance marks the culmination of The Vanaver Caravan’s SummerDance Intensive, a two-week workshop held at Lifebridge Sanctuary in Rosendale from July 29 to August 9. Directed by the esteemed Brian Lawton and the SummerDance Faculty, the showcase promises a fresh take on the magic of The Vanaver Caravan’s live dance and music performances.
The SummerDance Student Showcase will feature a myriad of vignette performances, each bringing its own unique flavor to the stage. Audiences will experience contemporary ballet choreographed by Charlotte Stickels, merged with Talli Jackson’s boundary-breaking modern dance choreography. It wouldn’t be a Caravan show without the rhythmic excitement of Appalachian clogging, taught by the one and only Livia Vanaver. Brian Lawton will add a touch of classic Broadway, while comedic and dramatic mime and theater sketches by Jonathan Kligler and Wiley Gorn will showcase the acting talents of our participants, providing plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments.
