Droneday Kingston
Droneday is an international celebration of drone, ambient, and experimental music and sounds.
On Saturday, May 25th 2024, we will be having a community event to take part in celebrating the day with an early evening of music at the Old Dutch Church at 272 Wall St. Kingston NY 12401 from 6 to 8:30 pm.
Loosely defined, drone music emphasizes sustained sounds or tone clusters to create often long-form music and can encompass innumerable types of genres, sounds, and styles. As a whole, the drone is ancient and appears in cultures around the world using a variety of methods such as voice, field recordings, traditional, and non-traditional instruments. On this day, around the world people will be creating and playing music to celebrate. Please join us in that celebration for a few hours to connect with other souls to help create a world-wide experience. For more information about the day as a whole, visit https://droneday.org/. Sound performances will be provided by J. Ashdown, Lucas Brode, Damian Patrick Cleary, Matt Luczak, and Seawind Of Battery.
