Digital Photography Challenges for Teens
July 29–August 9, 2024
Attention all budding photographers! CPW invites teens to attend an immersive, week-long workshop with artist and educator SETH DAVID RUBIN on how to make photographs using digital cameras. Students will discuss and explore working with photographic genres such as documentary and experimental, using a variety of studio and constructed image making methods, as well as through group field trips in and around the Hudson Valley.
Surprising challenges will be presented and participants will have to work in unexpected ways. Regardless of past experience, this workshop will introduce participants to exciting approaches and techniques, and to making imagery that will develop their skills further and expand their visual language vocabulary. This workshop welcomes photographers of all levels. Participants will have access to professional digital photo equipment such as cameras and strobes, and will also utilize CPW’s state-of-the-art digital media lab. Students can sign up for both sessions, as lessons and activities will vary between each session.
All participants will receive a free one-year membership to the CPW digital media lab upon completion of this workshop to continue their creative endeavors.
