They’ve toured cross-country from Alaska to Florida and across Canada multiple times—living out of an old camper with their three cats and dog along for the ride. Now nestled full-time in New York’s Hudson Valley, Modern Natives brings that wild, road-worn spirit to every stage. Known for their genre-blending sound and unforgettable live performances, Modern Natives is a must-see act wherever they land.
Christy Costello is a mover and a shaker in the Twin Cities Music Scene. She’s a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, disc jockey, talent buyer, promoter, mother and yogi. Hailing from the Iron Range of Northern Minnesota, she is no stranger to the great outdoors.Her music blends the ferocity and rawness of nature’s elements, the new and exciting energy of a house show, mixed with the adrenaline rush of an all-night downtown disco. Her first-rate songwriting has been showcased in previous bands like Pink Mink and Ouija Radio, as well as her raw and unforgettable stage performances in Monica LaPlante, Butchers Union, The Von Bondies and Extraterrestrials. This is Christy’s turn to step to the front.
Cellmate is a Kingston, New York–based project comprised of Maria Alvarez and Steven Markota. The duo is backed by drummer Chris Gartmann and guitarist Jacob Kolbinski. Influenced by the energy of garage rock, the freedom of electronic music, and the ethos of punk, the duo has amassed a collection of songs sure to electrify and excite.
