The opening reception for CONNECTING EMERGENCE; The Art of Paul Keskey will be on Saturday, January 3rd from 5pm to 9pm. Paul Keskey is a New Paltz based illustrator, oil painter, a lepidopterologist (he studies butterflies), and the the author of  A  Field Guide to Chrysalies; They’re Not Faeries,  a spectacular book that opens the door to the world of Chrysalies. He spends lots of time in the woods soaking in the natural surroundings, the dappled sunlight through a forest canopy, the ripples and eddies in a fast moving stream, the meandering flight of insects over a woodland meadow… all of which he takes back to his art studio and allows his imagination to take over. Here he creates a world where people, and nature are interconnected. Through his use of composition, anatomy, and color he opens wide our senses to visual stories allowing us to step in to new discoveries of our relationship with nature.                                     .
