DESCRIPTION:The opening reception for CONNECTING EMERGENCE\; The Art of Pau
 l Keskey will be on Saturday\, January 3rd from 5pm to 9pm. Paul Keskey is
  a New Paltz based illustrator\, oil painter\, a lepidopterologist (he stu
 dies butterflies)\, and the the author of  A  Field Guide to Chrysalies\
 ; They’re Not Faeries\,  a spectacular book that opens the door to the 
 world of Chrysalies. He spends lots of time in the woods soaking in the na
 tural surroundings\, the dappled sunlight through a forest canopy\, the ri
 pples and eddies in a fast moving stream\, the meandering flight of insect
 s over a woodland meadow… all of which he takes back to his art studio a
 nd allows his imagination to take over. Here he creates a world where peop
 le\, and nature are interconnected. Through his use of composition\, anato
 my\, and color he opens wide our senses to visual stories allowing us to s
 tep in to new discoveries of our relationship with nature.
