Celebrating Kanienʼkehá:ka Culture: A Benefit for the Mohawk Akwesasne Freedom School

Join us for an evening celebrating the living culture of the Kanienʼkehá (Mohawk Nation) while supporting the Akwesasne Freedom School, a nationally recognized Mohawk immersion school dedicated to Indigenous language and cultural revitalization. Held at Opus 40, the gathering features musicians, writers, dancers, and culture bearers including Tom Porter (Sakokwenionkwas), Akwesasne Youth Dancers, Hataalii, Sophie Strand, Theresa “Bear” Fox, and Kontiwennenhá (Akwesasne Women Singers). Indigenous artists will also have work available for purchase. Proceeds support the Freedom School’s new building and its ongoing work to strengthen Native language, culture, and community for future generations.
