The art of Byzantium is as contemporary today as it was 2,000 years ago. This September The Lace Mill Arts presents BYZANTIUM IN KINGSTON, an exhibition and lecture of icons and mosaics of the Eastern Orthodox faith from our region’s master iconographers featuring the works of Miltiadis Afentoulis, Marianna Afentouli, Anna Contes Maguire and accompanied by the lecture, The Timeless Contribution of Byzantine Art by Journalist – Sociologist, Dr. Despina Afentouli. The exhibit will run from September 7 through September 29. Opening reception is on September 7 from 5 to 9pm. The Timeless Contribution of Byzantine Art lecture by Dr. Afentouli is on September 14 starting at 1 pm. Gallery hours after the opening are weekends from 1 to 4 pm. The Lace Mill is open for ArtWalk on the weekend of September 21st and 22nd  from noon until 5pm.
