Gallery: 2016 Made in Kingston
For the fourth year, the 2016 Made in Kingston event was a showcase for businesses and artisans making things in Kingston. and each year it has been held in different locations to draw attention to many of the event spaces in Kingston that can be utilized for other events like these. This year it was held in a newly purchased building on Railroad Ave. in Midtown called Ferrovia Studios whose owner, artist Angela Rose Voulgarelis, will soon be trying to fill the former factory, warehouse, roller rink, and bowling alley with tenants.
With over four dozen exhibitors showing their wares, a steady stream of people were drawn to the event who got a first glimpse at the new space, learn about many new businesses in the area, sample foods and beverages from local restaurants, and even get some holiday shopping in. There was ample space for people to mix, mingle, and engage with the vendors at the expo which is what really brings value to an event like this. One got a real spirit of community watching the interactions of fellow business people, artisans, and consumers in an indoor venue like this one. Accolades were heard all evening about having this type of event which really showed the vibrancy of the Kingston area.
For those of you who did not make the event, here are some images that we captured that evening,
