AN EVENING OF ART, MUSIC & ACID JAZZ

The Kingston Pop Museum will come alive on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, for a special Opening Night Reception bringing together contemporary art, live music, culture, and the spirit of Acid Jazz.
Produced and curated by John Stavros, the event continues the Kingston Pop Museum’s mission of creating a meeting place where art, fashion, music, history, and pop culture collide.

Three distinctive artistic voices will come together inside the Kingston Pop Museum for a night celebrating creativity, individuality, and the continuing evolution of contemporary culture.
LIVE MUSIC – SLAVE REVOLT
The Opening Night Reception will feature live music by Slave Revolt, bringing the energy and sound of Acid Jazz to the
museum and transforming the exhibition into an immersive art-and-music experience.
Acid Jazz grew from the meeting of jazz, funk, soul, rhythm, and club culture. That same freedom of expression is at the heart of this October 2 event – visual artists and musicians sharing the same space and creating an experience that goes beyond a traditional gallery opening.
ART SHOULD BE ALIVE
For producer John Stavros, the evening represents the philosophy behind the Kingston Pop Museum: art should not simply hang silently on a wall. It should live alongside music, people, fashion, history, conversation, and the energy of the moment.
Guests are invited to experience the artwork, meet the artists, enjoy the music of Slave Revolt, and become part of an evening celebrating the creative spirit of Kingston.
