Writers Read Presents ‘The Photograph’: Hudson Valley Storytelling Event Oct. 25
Writers Read Presents “The Photograph”: A Live Storytelling Event
KINGSTON, NY, October 9, 2025—Writers Read, a premier live storytelling series, presents “The Photograph” on Saturday, October 25 at 2:00 PM at CPW in Kingston, New York. This special Hudson Valley event features a cast of talented writers sharing five-minute stories behind unforgettable images. Local cast members include veteran screenwriters Peter Wortmann and John Pielmeier, distinguished journalist Daisy Sindelar, and actress Margarita Meyendorff.
A photograph freezes a moment in time, but some images stay with us long after the moment has passed, evolving as we do, sparking memories and emotions that grow deeper with time. For this event, Writers Read challenged writers to explore a photograph they keep returning to—whether physically displayed in their homes or preserved only in imagination.
“We asked our writers to consider: Is the image from a family album, a book, or something seen in a museum?” said founder and host Ed McCann. “Were they the one behind the camera or in the frame? What draws them back to this particular image—the location, a figure in the foreground, or something obscured in the shadows?”
The result is an intimate afternoon of true, personal narratives that reveal how a single photograph can capture loss, joy, identity, transformation, and memory itself.
