2 SOLO ARTISTS: Leslie Bender and Stacie Flint
his November The Lace Mill presents 2 solo exhibitions of paintings from 2 contemporary Hudson Valley artists, Leslie Bender and Stacie Flint.
Leslie Bender is a painter and printmaker working in Kingston, NY who once earned a living as a theatre set designer. Her studio projects are both political and nonpolitical and have shown at The Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Downtown in NYC. Her solo exhibit in the West Gallery of The Lace Mill is titled “A MultiVerse of Art” and features her most recent exploration with printmaking, painting, and collage which explores spiritual and mystical imagery. .
Meanwhile, the Main Gallery is filled with vibrant colors coming from the soulful and delightful paintings by Stacie Flint. As an illustrator, Flint has designed CD covers, a children’s book, and her illustrations have been featured on numerous magazine covers. Her solo exhibit, entitled “Color and Spirit,” features imagery of people, animals, and places inspired by her everyday life with suggestions from her imagination. Flint has exhibited extensively in the Hudson Valley, New York City, and throughout the United States, and Canada.
The 2 solo exhibits will run from November 2nd through November 24th. The opening reception will be on Saturday, November 2nd from 5 to 9 pm. Gallery hours after the opening are Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm to 4 pm. The Lace Mill is located at 165 Cornell Street in Kingston, NY.
