2019 New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in the Kingston area
Happy New Year, Kingston!
Here is our comprehensive guide to all of the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day events in Kingston (and the surrounding areas!).
In search of a classic way to ring in the new year? Head uptown to BSP and the historic back theater which will boast a multitude of entertainment, including Shareef Keyes and the Groove, Decora, and DJ Khaje. Stay in BSP at midnight for a mini ball drop if you’d rather not face the elements or crowds outside. If you’re feeling adventurous, step out to the corner of Wall Street and North Front Street at 11:50 PM to experience the City of Kingston’s ball drop with a fantastic fireworks show generously sponsored by local law firm Basch and Keegan. Run back in to BSP afterwards for a DJ dance party and boogie the night away until the party is over. Uptown, Stockade Tavern will also carry on their tradition of celebrating the incoming new year with Caprice Rouge in a cozy, intimate atmosphere.
New this year, Tubby’s on Broadway will offer an early celebration with a champagne toast at 10PM to prime folks who want to head uptown to the ball drop. Also new in Midtown, and a great alternative to the celebrations uptown, will be Lis Bar’s New Year’s Eve extravaganza. Swing by for a cozy, yet exciting atmosphere with Artist/DJ Raven Fox at 10PM who will be spinning into the new

year. Try out Lis Bar’s new wine menu, and new winter food menu as well. No cover charge!
Downtown, Ole Savannah will have their annual New Year’s Eve bash with DJ Boomie, plenty of food specials, and a great party vibe. Many other restaurants downtown, such as Ship to Shore, will offer an unforgettable New Year’s Eve with their noteworthy menus as well.
If you’re looking fun outside of Kingston, visit our nearby neighbors in Woodstock or Saugerties. At the Colony Cafe in Woodstock, Chris Wells and the Silver Spaceship will provide an exciting evening of featured artists and performers to help you welcome 2019. The Lodge in Woodstock will host a dance party with Billy Lepre and various other DJs, with a champagne toast at midnight. The Village of Saugerties will have their own ball drop, countdown clock, DJ and other festive elements all evening long into the New Year.
On New Year’s Day, enjoy brunch at one of your favorite restaurants (details listed below) and take part in a new Kingston tradition, the Day 1 community walk, ending with an inspiring movie screening at BSP.
