Voice Theatre Announces Their Summer Youth Theatre Workshops

In a creative, supportive, environment young people have fun exploring acting, improvisation, voice, movement and performance. They develop confidence, focus and collaborative skills while discovering the fun of acting in a safe space. The Voice Theatre Summer Youth Workshop is a seven-day theatre workshop that ends with a free, Open House Performance for Friends and Family July 23rd.

Classes are led by experienced theater professionals who have taught at: NYU School of the Arts, Stella Adler, Columbia University and major New York City acting studios. Beginners welcome. We have two Age Groups: 9–12 & 13–17. Workshops are at the air conditioned, Bethany Hall, Old Dutch Church, Kingston. We also offer sibling discounts.

Through plays and workshops, Voice Theatre brings people together to experience the full diversity of being human. We transform lives by creating theatre and giving workshops. We are a regional theatre in Woodstock, NY and produce in Kingston, NY and New York City, while providing educational programming both upstate and downstate with emphasis on serving the underserved, displaced and ethnically excluded.

We create new productions and explore relevant dimensions of classic works. From play development readings and free in-school workshops to full-scale productions and international tours, Voice Theatre cuts through barriers of ethnicity, language, and nationality, bringing together diverse peoples seeking mutual respect because of their shared experiences of humanity.

Voice Theatre plays are produced in coordination with educational outreach programs focusing on anti-bullying, racism, communication skills, history and English for grades 5 -12 in public schools. Our educational outreach programs offer free workshops and performances to under-served communities in New York City, upstate NY and beyond.
