Veterans in a New Field to Perform Civil War Songs at Matthewis Persen House

The Ulster County Civil War Roundtable will present a concert by Veterans in a New Field on Saturday, June 10 at 2:00 PM at the Matthewis Persen House in Kingston. The event is free and open to the public.

Veterans in a New Field is a band that performs songs from the Civil War and World War I. The band’s members are all veterans, and they use their music to honor the sacrifices made by those who have served their country.

The concert will feature a variety of songs, including “Marching Through Georgia,” “Over There,” and “Danny Boy.” The band will also perform songs from the Irish Brigade, a Union Army unit that was made up of mostly Irish Americans.

The concert is part of the Ulster County Civil War Roundtable’s ongoing efforts to educate the public about the Civil War. The Roundtable hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including lectures, book talks, and walking tours.
