Park Name Wanted for Kingston’s Newest Green Spaces

City officials are seeking a name for a new green space in the heart of Midtown, and Kingstonians have thoughts.

The park, actually two small parks on either side of Prince Street, emerged incidental to a street realignment project completed last year that included a full redesign of the notoriously accident-prone intersection of Broadway, Prince Street and Pine Grove Avenue. Crews tore down the vacant Planet Wings fast food restaurant on the east side of Prince Street and a small parking lot on the west side directly across Broadway from the YMCA. Both spaces were seeded with grass as design work began on a pair of small “parklets” that will occupy the space.
