Teenage years may be fleeting, but it seems ‘Teenage Dirtbag’ is for life, as Wheatus’ debut single popped up yet again in 2022, making itself known in a way never seen before in the form of a TikTok trend. The “Teenage Dirtbag photos” trend has now been embraced by nearly a million people, including celebrities such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Mark Ruffalo, Lil Nas X, Jon Bon Jovi, Chevy Chase, and countless others, resulting in the hashtag #teenagedirtbag being viewed over 2 billion times worldwide. So it’s been a busy couple of years for Wheatus. They continue to spend as much time as possible on the road, both for headline shows and as a support act (most recently with Everclear, Hoobastank & Living Colour on the Summerland 2021 tour) across North America. Wheatus have also made a triumphant return to festival stages, playing high profile events like Audacy Beach Fest, where they performed alongside Muse, Jack White, The 1975 and Machine Gun Kelly, just to name a few. While managing the sudden influx of attention and press, the independent six-piece band have been continuing their ongoing project of re-releasing their debut album (in a twenty-song expanded edition featuring “lost” songs from throughout the years), creating content for their endlessly loyal fanbase on Patreon, and getting ready for whatever the future throws at them next. To date, the eclectic rock outfit has now released six studio albums, two live albums, and multiple additional singles.

Mona Freaka are your cool sisters – an all female band of Teen Indie Melodic Riot Grrrls out of Woodstock, New York USA. Formed from having met at a local rock school program, Roxy, Shea, Jill & Gemma have played shows with punk bands, indie & grunge acts, Moon Unit Zappa (!), are playing in Los Angeles this Spring, and the 30th Annual Rebellion Festival in the UK in August of 2026, with additional August dates throughout Britain.

Our “Pucker & Pout” EP is now out self-released on limited edition 12″ 45 RPM Pink Vinyl & USB Cassette, with 7 more songs recorded and being released over the next several months. The record is available directly through us, or at Amoeba Records in Hollywood!

Mona Freaka’s “American Actress” was recently added by Four Tet to his Insane (Nearly) Never-Ending Playlist, Rodney Bingenheimer played “Last Song” on his Sirius XM show, and we’ve had music featured and added on Sirius XMU, Loud Women Radio UK, Mike Watt’s (Firehose / Minutemen) Watt From Pedro Show, Kolectiv Radio Kosovo, Rock City Radio Hamburg, The RachaelORama Punk Show on KXFM, Fresh Cuts with Sindi Halfrats of the Lunachicks on Sojourn Radio, Maker Park Radio NYC, Eclectic Ladyland Radio Austin Texas, The Clean Nice Quiet Show, Go Go Kitty with Peter Aaron, Hudson Valley stations WGXV Wavefarm Radio, WKNY Radio Kingston, & WDST Radio Woodstock.
