Weird Music Night
ArtPort Kingston presents Weird Music Night on Saturday, September 27, 5–9 PM in the ArtYard. The evening will feature performances by SPYRODON, SKULLTOWER 4E, PERVERT SAVANT, A.I. PACINO, and others. Audiences can expect live sound, video projections, animations, performance, absurdist commentary, and even one boring poem.
ArtPort’s ArtYard will be transformed into a playground for the ears and eyes, continuing the Weird Music Night tradition of bringing experimental music and interdisciplinary performance to unexpected spaces and is curated by artist John O’Donnell.
HISTORY OF WEIRD MUSIC NIGHT
Weird Music Night began in 2024 as a one-time gathering of musicians and artists exploring experimental sound at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art in New Haven, Connecticut. Its success led to continued monthly programming and subsequent events in New York, Miami, and at SXSW in Austin. In 2025, the series has evolved into an international event, with its first European program scheduled for Rome, Italy. Over time, Weird Music Night has established itself as a platform bridging experimental music, performance art, and visual culture.

Weird Music Night is committed to presenting sound-based practices and interdisciplinary performance in contexts that encourage experimentation and critical engagement. The series provides a space for musicians, artists, and audiences to encounter unconventional forms of expression, emphasizing process, collaboration, and the productive instability of live performance.
