Waiting for Guffman
Waiting for Guffman (1996) is a mockumentary comedy about a small-town Missouri community theatre troupe preparing for an original musical celebrating their town’s 150th anniversary. Led by an earnest but delusional director, the eccentric cast pours their hearts into the production while dreaming of Broadway fame, especially when they hear a New York producer may be attending opening night. Directed by Christopher Guest and filled with improvisational humor, the film is a loving satire of amateur theatre, ambition, and showbiz dreams.
