THE PENGUIN LESSONS

A rescued penguin turns a chaotic classroom upside down in this heartwarming comedy drama set during Argentina’s 1976 military coup.

Based on a true story, the film follows weary British schoolteacher Tom Michell (Steve Coogan), whose students in Buenos Aires seem impossible to reach — until he encounters a lone surviving Patagonian penguin in an oil-slicked beach.

After cleaning the bird and releasing it back to the ocean, Tom is stunned when it keeps returning to him.

Unable to find it a home, he eventually brings the penguin into his classroom.

What follows saves Tom as well as the kids.
