Remember Our Connection: Mending and Repair
Join us for Remember Our Connection: Mending and Repair- a community gathering and film screening. The short film uplifts indigenous wisdom and knowledge gained by conflict practitioners from our experience supporting everyday people to work through conflict. The event will screen the short documentary and include Q&A with conflict practitioners, opportunities for community discussions around conflict, and have music from Acoustic Soul singer-songwriter callie mackenzie.
Mending & Repair Circles is the fourth part of Remember Y(our) Connection / Tandaan Ang Ating Ugnayan, an ongoing community arts project in support of climate justice, founded in 2019 by Cecilia Lim. Cecilia conducted and recorded individual interviews with conflict practitioners and Shinnecock tribal members, and made a short documentary film and a “Community Guide to Navigating Interpersonal Conflict” zine from those recordings.
The zine will be available on a sliding scale to benefit Shinnecock Nation and Prisoners’ Brain Trust.
All activities will be on the first floor of the Good Work Institute Greenhouse, and is wheelchair accessible.
