DRIVEWAYS screening
What happens when a lonely veteran and a shy boy cross paths?
In this deeply touching story, filmed right here in Ulster and Dutchess counties, Brian Dennehy — in his final role — delivers a powerful performance about kindness, connection and unexpected family.
“A quiet masterpiece.” — Nick Schager, Esquire
“Surprising at every turn.” — Alissa Wilkinson, Vox
“Its performances are among the most affecting I’ve seen in quite a while.” — Jeannette Catsoulis, The New York Times
The beautiful film follows a single mother (Hong Chau) and her reserved young son (Lucas Jaye) as they arrive to clean out her late sister’s home — only to find an unexpected connection next door with a widowed Korean War veteran (Dennehy).
What begins as cautious interactions grows into a profound friendship that changes all their lives.
