Celebrate Trails Day with WVLT!
The Wallkill Valley Land Trust (WVLT) is thrilled to invite the community to join in the fun of Celebrate Trails Day! with a series of community events and an after-party on April 26, 2025 at Willow Kiln Park at the base of Joppenbergh Mountain.
Among the day’s highlights are a trail clean-up and a group bike ride on the northern section of the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, a chance to meet some of the horses that regularly use the trail , and a Tree Walk along Historic Huguenot Street in partnership with the New Paltz Earth Day Fair.
The day will culminate in a lively Celebrate Trails Day! After-Party at Willow Kiln Park in Rosendale from 1 PM to 3 PM , featuring live music from A Groove Gathering , delicious donuts from Hole in the Wall Donuts , and guided walks with WVLT on Joppenbergh Mountain . The after-party will be a time to relax, connect with fellow trail enthusiasts, and reflect on the day’s accomplishments while enjoying great company, good music, and local flavors.
Celebrate Trails Day! with WVLT is not just an event—it’s a chance to come together as a community, give back to our incredible trail systems, and celebrate the invaluable natural resources that make Ulster County so special.
“We are excited to host a bigger and better Celebrate Trails Day! in 2025 and encourage everyone to take part in this community celebration,” said Christie DeBoer, WVLT’s Executive Director. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors, give back to the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, and enjoy the beauty of the trail with friends and neighbors.”
Celebrate Trails Day! is about more than just enjoying the outdoors—it’s about fostering a deeper connection with nature, supporting trail conservation, and appreciating the positive impact of trails on our well-being and communities. With over 41,000 miles of multi-use trails across the nation, and more than 150 trail networks in development, this day celebrates the power of trails to bring people together and support a healthier planet.
