BYOClothing Blockprinting Class
Learn block printing and upcycle an old garment! Join us at The Department of Things with local artist Moth Snow to learn the basics of fabric printing and create a washable custom textile to tell your own naturalist stories. Re-imagine a stained shirt, make personalized napkins, print fabric patches, and explore the printmaking process with ease.
BYO-clothes and use an extensive library of 80+ linoleum block prints, featuring naturalist folk inspired designs including hawks, frogs, plants, astronomy symbols, quilt blocks, and more.
Participants will complete one small trial item and 1 larger printed item of their choice.
Items can be misc textiles, napkins, pillow cases, natural fiber clothing like cotton, denim, linen. Polyester items are printable as well, 50%+ natural fibers preferred.
Moth Snow is a sustainable textile artist and teacher. They provide guided instruction for developing a block printed composition with their unique naturalist folk inspired designs.

2 hours.
Printing supplies, Blocks and instruction provided.
No experience needed, ages 12+
Participants will supply material to print on.
1 shirt / pant, 1 small item napkin / fabric scrap
