The Arts Society of Kingston (ASK) presents three new exhibitions opening Friday, July 31, at 6:00 PM and on view through August 30, celebrating abstraction, emotional expression, and creative transformation.
In the Members Gallery, Essence of Abstraction showcases contemporary abstract work by 22 ASK member artists. Through color, form, texture, movement, and gesture, the exhibition explores the many ways abstraction communicates emotion, ideas, and experience beyond representation.
The Spotlight Gallery features The Space Between Seeing and Feeling, a solo exhibition by Ken Wenger. Working primarily in pastel, Wenger transforms black-and-white photographs into richly tactile portraits and figurative works that explore memory, vulnerability, and the emotional resonance of human experience.
In the Front Gallery, Reclaimed Light, Mended Worlds, Natalya Khorover transforms discarded plastics, vintage textiles, and found urban materials into luminous installations and sculptural works. Through four interconnected series, Khorover invites viewers to reconsider waste, repair, and the beauty found in transformation.
Together, these exhibitions celebrate the diverse ways contemporary artists reinterpret the world through experimentation, material exploration, and personal vision.
The opening reception is free and open to the public on Friday, July 31, from 6:00–8:00 PM. All exhibitions remain on view through August 30.
