Ecstatic Dance is an opportunity to connect with your body and community with free form expressive dance. Join us for an expansive Sunday morning of movement and music in the beautiful Kingston venue, Assembly!

We will be honoring the container of the space, which includes these guidelines:
~ this is a judgement free dance journey, feel free to express yourself!
~ limit conversation on the dance floor, this keeps the energy flowing (there will be a designated space and time to chat)
~ this is a substance free event
~ no phones, photos, or videos on the dance floor, there is so much magic in full presence
~ we invite you to explore the shoe-less experience of dancing barefoot
Our featured artist for this dance is Cosmal!
Cosmal is the project of Ryan Coyle, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and singer-songwriter based in the Hudson Valley, NY. Known for 100% live performances that blend organic and electronic elements, Ryan creates transformative sonic journeys that evoke deep emotional connection. Drawing inspiration from his Irish and Celtic heritage and spanning the realms of jazz, indie, world, and electronic music, Cosmal’s performances move beyond traditional concerts to become immersive, somatic experiences.
Whether layering instruments in real time to craft intricate, atmospheric soundscapes or delivering intimate acoustic moments, Ryan’s versatility ensures that each performance is unique. Michael Gabriel has been deeply practicing 5Rhythms for over 15 years and leading it since 2017–in NYC, Costa Rica, Big Island Hawai’i… & the Hudson Valley!

Closing Sound Meditation with Melissa officinalis and Cosmal
We gently land our dances with a special Closing Sound Meditation with Melissa officinalis and a guest musician, featuring live instruments such as shruti box, koshi chimes, shakers, rain stick, singing bowls, vocals, and more. Please feel welcome to bring a blanket to sit or lay on for this experience.
About Melissa officinalis
Melissa officinalis (Melissa Scheibner) is a sound meditation practitioner, ecstatic dance facilitator and DJ, herbal medicine steward, and community organizer. Her artist name comes from the botanical name for the plant Lemon Balm, whose plant spirit medicine is uplifting and grounding. She is passionate about bringing community together for holistic experiences, connecting with mind, body, spirit, and nature. She is an event producer of Hudson Valley Ecstatic Rhythms, and Hudson Valley Silent Disco.
