Manhattan Chamber Players
Clarinetist Mariam Adam joins the Manhattan Chamber Players for a dynamic program featuring Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E-flat Major, K.493 and Clarinet Quintet, K.581; Valerie Coleman’s *Sonatine* for clarinet and piano; and the world premiere of Russell Platt’s Clarinet Concerto arranged for chamber ensemble. The concert includes a pre-show talk with Adam, Coleman, and Platt. Known for their precision and expressive depth, MCP is a New York-based collective of top-tier chamber musicians with roots in Marlboro, Juilliard, and other elite institutions. Mariam Adam, an internationally acclaimed performer, brings a multicultural sensibility shaped by her Egyptian and Mexican heritage and performances with legends like Yo-Yo Ma and Chick Corea. Coleman, a GRAMMY-nominated flutist and award-winning composer, is celebrated for her trailblazing work and cultural impact. Platt, steeped in Romanticism, composes intellectually rich music that often responds to visual art, literature, and history.
