Sign up begins at 6:30, and our capacity is 30 attendees.
$5 admittance fee for our featured performer, but donations are accepted as well, and policy is ‘pay what you can’. All donations go towards the funding of future events. First come first serve!
Our featured performer this month is Laurence Carr, who is a Hudson Valley writer of fiction, CNF, poetry and plays. His newest book, Traverse, is a collaboration with artist Power Boothe. Paradise Loft (poems), is published by CAPS Press/Lightwoodpress. His novel, Pancake Hollow Primer, (Winner: Next Generation Indie Book Award for first novel) and two poetry collections, Threnodies and The Wytheport Tales are published by Codhill Press. As anthology editor at Codhill, he edited or co-edited five anthologies including A Slant of Light: Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley (Winner of the USA Best Book Award for Fiction Anthology). Over 20 plays have been produced in New York City, regionally and in Europe including the Off-Broadway Kennedy at Colonus (cited in the Burns Mantle Best Plays Series). Laurence taught creative and dramatic writing at SUNY New Paltz and is the publisher of Lightwoodpress.com, an online arts-and-culture magazine. Also at: www.carrwriter.com.
