DESCRIPTION:Two ninety-minute sessions meeting on Sunday afternoon\nSo many
  Yarn Farm Friends ask us about visible mending\, and for good reason! Use
  sewing techniques to mend\, beautify and sustain your garments and textil
 e treasures. Brilliant!\nYou will learn these techniques with hands-on pra
 ctice in class on woven fabric - think cottons\, linens\, button down shir
 ts and the like:\n\n\n 	\nRunning stitch (with or without thimble)\n\n 	\n
 Patching (raw or with a neat edge)\n\n 	\nApplique\n\n 	\nReverse applique
 \n\n 	\nWoven patch (without a loom)\n\n 	\nEmbroidery\n\n\nYou will learn
  these techniques with hands-on practice in class on knit fabric - think h
 andknits and commercially-made knits\, t-shirts\, stretch leggings and the
  like:\n\n\n 	\nDarning\n\n 	\nPatching\n\n 	\nWoven patch (without a loom
 )\n\n\nIt’s indeed a lot\, and we’ll move steadily through the techniq
 ues. You may not try every single one yourself in class but you’ll certa
 inly do 2-3 of them per class\, and you’ll have what you need to keep pr
 acticing and mending at home\, including a materials kit (value approx. $3
 0-40) included in your class fee. In class we’ll also go through the ran
 ge of tools that can be helpful. But to start you don’t need very much!\
 nTeacher: Jocelyn Songco\nClass fee $100 including materials.\nMaterials p
 rovided (illustrative and valued at approx. $30-40): variety of cloth (cot
 ton\, linen\, wool and stretch jersey)\, sashiko embroidery floss\, DMC em
 broidery floss\, wool/nylon thread\, needles\, stick and stitch for  embr
 oidery\, embroidery hoop and pins.\nNot included: thimble or darning egg\,
  but these are available for purchase. During your course\, you may shop w
 ith a 10% discount on full-price items (some limited items are excluded fr
 om this discount) on the dates your class meets.\nMinimum 2 people to conf
 irm the class\, maximum of 6 students total. If we don’t reach the minim
 um of two students by 3 days before the date of the first class we’ll re
