DESCRIPTION:What happens when thirty young dancers\, musicians\, actors\, a
 nd teaching artists spend two weeks creating a performance together? Every
  summer\, The Vanaver Caravan answers that question with a brand-new produ
 ction.\n\nThis year\, the SummerDance Student Showcase returns to the Rose
 ndale Theatre with Once Upon a Theatre\, an imaginative evening inspired b
 y the timeless world of fairy tales. Created during The Vanaver Caravan’
 s annual two-week SummerDance Intensive\, the performance blends live danc
 e\, music\, theatre\, and cinematic projection into an immersive\, hour-lo
 ng experience unlike a traditional student recital.\n\nEvery summer\, Perf
 ormance Director Brian Lawton and the SummerDance faculty create an origin
 al production around a new theme. Following audience favorites inspired by
  vaudeville and classic cinema\, this year’s showcase journeys into ench
 anted forests\, impossible quests\, curious creatures\, unlikely heroes\, 
 and the enduring magic of storytelling. Rather than retelling familiar fai
 ry tales\, Once Upon a Theatre explores the wonder\, mystery\, humor\, and
  imagination that have captivated audiences for generations.\n\nFeaturing 
 original choreography\, live music\, theatrical scenes\, and multimedia de
 sign\, the performance showcases an extraordinary range of dance tradition
 s and performance styles. Audiences will experience ballet\, modern dance\
 , swing dance\, Appalachian clogging\, house dance\, percussive dance fusi
 on\, world dance\, theatre\, singing\, and original music woven into one s
 eamless theatrical production.\n\nSummerDance is an immersive performing a
 rts intensive for students ages 9 through teens\, held annually at Lifebri
 dge Sanctuary in Rosendale. During the two-week program\, students train w
 ith professional artists while collaborating across disciplines\, culminat
 ing in a fully produced performance at the historic Rosendale Theatre.\n\n
 The 2026 SummerDance faculty includes Program Director Ariana Brisport\, M
 usic Director Chelsea Needham\, Performance Director Brian Lawton\, and te
 aching artists Charlotte Stickles (Ballet)\, Maddie Leonard-Rose (Modern D
 ance)\, Rafal Pustelny (Swing Dance)\, Sandy Silva (Percussive Dance Fusio
 n)\, Livia Vanaver (World Dance and Appalachian Clogging)\, Gabriel Vanave
 r (House Dance and Songwriting)\, Wiley Gorn (Theatre)\, and Neve Parker (
 Creative Movement).\n\nMore than a showcase\, Once Upon a Theatre celebrat
 es collaboration\, creativity\, and the transformative power of the perfor
 ming arts. Built in just two weeks by students and faculty working side by
