 . Over the course of their 11-day residency\, Akeema\, Amani\, and Joselia

Liberation is an artist residency organized by The School of Making Thin
king (SMT) in Kingston\, NY\, in collaboration with Eureka! Press\, a loca
l printing press\, and artist Akeema-Zane\, with support from Midtown King
ston Arts District. The residency provides a supportive\, exploratory envi
ronment for Black artists from New York to translate their artistic practi
ce into art-book form. Grounded in the belief that art-making is a method
of survival—particularly for marginalized communities—the residency gu
ides artists in translating their practice to the page in ways that reach
wider audiences.\n\nAnd don’t miss the end-of-residency reading on Sa
turday\, December 20 at 6 PM\, also at the DRAW Gallery.
