DESCRIPTION:Spaghetti Eastern Music is the genre-leaping solo project of Hu
 dson Valley-based guitarist/keyboardist Sal Cataldi. Spaghetti Eastern Mus
 ic marries funky\, acid jazz-fueled guitar instrumentals and ambient sound
 scapes with bare-bones acoustic ballads straight out of the Nick Drake sch
 ool. Cataldi debuted the project with the critically acclaimed 2016 album
 \, Sketches of Spam\, followed by several EPs and singles. The New York Ti
 mes says Cataldi “has a beat unmistakably his own” while Time Out New 
 York praises his "delicate guitar work and the hauntingly moody atmosphere
  he conjures.” Called “beautiful and unique” by WFUV’s Mixed Bag a
 nd “charmingly melodic and off-center” by WFMU.  Hudson Valley One ha
 s called Spaghetti Eastern “part Sergio Leone fever dream\, part Ravi Sh
 ankar raga\, a whirling dervish of musical creation\, a must-see.” Chron
 ogram Magazine called his music “cool\, melodic\, inspired and transcend
 ent\, a wave of sonic warmth and light.” Psychedelic Baby Magazine label
 s it “the perfect sonic tonic for these troubled times.” Cataldi also
  leads an offshoot quartet\, Spaghetti Eastern Electro Dub\, which fuses d
 ub\, raga\, and psychedelia\, a critically-acclaimed fusion that can be he
 ard on the album Live at Green Kill Session. He is also a member of the am
 bient guitar duo Guitars A Go Go\, the poetry/music project Vapor Vespers\
 , and the psych/surf quartet\, Spaceheater.  He is also a contributing wr
 iter on music to The New York Times\, Rolling Stone\, PopMatters\, InsideO
 ut Upstate NY and NYSMusic. He is also the host of Reading Is Funktamental
 \, a monthly show on WGXC 90.7 FM where he interviews authors of books abo
