SUMMARY:Sound Walk in the Hamlet of Marlboro
DESCRIPTION:Sound Stories is an oral histories and community arts project o
 f Marlboro bringing together the voices of farmers\, business owners\, stu
 dents\, long-standing families\, and new arrivals to the community.\nEvery
  person with a tie to Marlboro is invited to contribute their own narrativ
 e\, whether through spoken word\, poetry\, music\, or visual art\, to this
  evolving collective sound collage.\n​\nTo ensure these legacies last fo
 r generations\, all finished interviews will be archived at the Marlboro F
 ree Library\, with a written transcript of each interview and the intervie
 ws will be available to listen to at the library as well as on a public so
 und platform to foster and promote local histories that help shape our fut
 ure.\n\nPhase 1: Gathering Voices. We are currently working toward a goal
  of collecting as many community interviews as possible by September 1st.\
 n​\nPhase 2: Composition. Selected snippets from these recordings will 
 be integrated with local field recordings and musical elements into a soun
 d collage for our public sound walks this autumn.\n​\nPhase 3: Four gu
 ided sound walks in the hamlet of Marlboro and along the Marlboro Nature T
 rail\, allowing attendees to engage with these living memories through a u
 nique sonic experience.\n\n\nSound Walks help us to slow down\, observe\,
  and take in information that we'd otherwise walk past or ignore. When we
  are walking with intention and connection\, we are able to experience the
  world through listening in a unique way.\n​\nSAVE THE DATES: Oct. 16\,
