DESCRIPTION:The soothing sounds of Sundanese gamelan will be alive in the f
 orest at Rosendale’s sweet outdoor venue\, the Rail Trail Café. Share a
  pizza or a tasty beverage\, immersed in the sounds of gongs and songs fro
 m West Java\, Indonesia. New musicians will be making their debut with the
  Catskill Mountain Gamelan in our first public performance since 2020\, wh
 en we temporarily paused our musical operation first for the pandemic\, th
 en for the babies\, and finally as we searched for a new home for our inst
 ruments. We are back with some of our favorite melodies\, and are adding i
 n some new repertoire\, including a fun new arrangement of the Turkish son
 g Saskin. If you like a good story\, we will pause for a storytelling mome
 nt\, as we read a Southeast Asian trickster tale of the famous mouse deer 
 Kancil. Listen for how he gets out of a sticky predicament\, set to the mu
