Renowned Brooklyn drummer Rob Garcia on September 17 will bring his jazz quartet to T.R. Gallo Waterfront Park in Kingston, NY, for an evening of dynamic and compelling music on the Rondout Creek shore. Show time is 7 p.m. Admission is free.
The Rob Garcia 4 has performed at Smalls Jazz Club in New York City, Ronnie Scott’s in London, the Toronto Jazz Festival and the Ottawa International Jazz Festival. On Friday, September 17, this ensemble will share its artistry with the Hudson Valley in an inspiring setting that celebrates the region’s natural beauty.
“The Hudson Valley is a special place for me, and I’m very much looking forward to performing there with my group and contributing to its rich musical legacy,” Garcia said. “Each member of my group has a very unique, distinct and masterful way of playing their instrument. Together we create something very special. I can’t wait to perform in Kingston for an audience that I know will expect only the best!”
In addition to Garcia on drums, the Rob Garcia 4 features Noah Preminger on tenor saxophone, Leo Genovese on piano, and Kim Cass on bass. The group has released five critically acclaimed albums and, as bandleader, Garcia continues to compose and arrange new material.
Rob Garcia has established a firm foothold in the jazz world and continues to blaze a trail of tone and texture each time he strikes a drum with sticks. He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in jazz, including Wynton Marsalis and Diana Krall. And he has played on more than 70 albums, including multiple Grammy winners.
Rob has also studied and practiced holistic healing. He graduated from the IM School of Healing Arts, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and is a non- denominational ordained minister.
